About Dr. Renetta D. Weaver: I Know What It Feels Like When Change Chooses You Before You’re Ready.

Portrait of Dr. Renetta D. Weaver.

Long before the titles, credentials, awards, books and businesses, there was a little girl whose early experiences shaped how she learned to see herself and the world around her.

Trauma didn’t stay neatly tucked away in childhood. Over time, I began to recognize how those experiences had touched multiple dimensions of my wellness, my choices, my relationships, my work and the way I moved through life.

Then came the work of healing

I learned that healing wasn’t about pretending the past didn’t happen. It was about no longer allowing what happened to me to determine who I had permission to become.

That journey eventually became part of how I helped other people navigate their own change. But change wasn’t finished teaching me.

I entered social work during a time when much of our work was still done with paper and pencil. Then technology began changing everything.

“I was scared of technology too.”

I wasn’t the person running toward every new piece of technology. There was even a time when I didn’t want to switch from cable television to streaming because I didn’t understand how it worked.

So when AI arrived and I saw people feeling overwhelmed, intimidated, afraid of getting it wrong, or convinced technology wasn’t for them, I recognized that feeling.

“I had been there.”

And I realized people didn’t need another technology expert making them feel behind. They needed someone who could help make the unfamiliar feel understandable. That’s when two parts of my life’s work came together.

Today, I bring behavioral health, neuroscience, leadership, lived experience and AI together to help people and organizations navigate change with less fear, less overwhelm and more confidence.

Change on the inside. Change around us.

We don’t have to understand everything about what’s next to take the next step. Sometimes, we just need a safe enough place to begin.

Global and community

Impact Is Bigger Than a Stage.

Some of the most meaningful work has happened far from a microphone. In Senegal, West Africa, and in community rooms closer to home, the exchange is the same: you give what you know, and you leave changed by the people who received it.
